Why people do call this the Devil Staircase??

 when we thinking about Sri Lanka, literally comes to our mind, the groriance of ancient Buddist temples, stunning waterfalls, spectacular history, and lovely wild lives. Normally you are willing to see those beauties by yourself. If you are an extremely adventurous character, you will definitely find a place to get joy by pumping adrenaline. 

The devil staircase is a one of death seen the place in the world. When you hear that name you will probably think about some kind of actual staircase. you will wonder, the first time I hear that place I always felt the same. 

However, this is not an actual staircase. It is a road that gives you to fear of the devil. It is so spectacular. The location of the road is the pure joy this place brings. This is one of the hardest roads in Sri Lanka. 

it starts from Kalupahana junction to Ohiya. The scenery beside the trail is mind-blowing. It is a paradise with tons of plants, flowers, and mist. At some point, you can see, the highest waterfall(Babarakanda waterfall)  in Sri Lanka and too many others. If you need to get the spirit of it, can hike to the end. it is a 16km hike with 1200m elevation. The other two best options are biking or drive 4*4 vehicles. 

Even though you choose any method, it saves the most unique experience. There is a spot in the middle of the trail for champing, but aware weather can be changed at any time. The best session for the journey is January to April. Jump into this place, if you are an extreme adventure seeker. but, It can be dangerous and no one can't predict the weather.
