The Wonderful experience in Wewathanna camping site 2021

We had seen loads of cool pictures from here, We were worried we might be disappointed but this place still managed to knock our socks off. The top of the hill is the perfect place to chill out and watch the world go by. It has been rated as our top sunset sport in the area.
We started our journey from Gampaha by van with our friends. We rented out two tents, a BBQ machine, and lights from a local seller in Kandy. If you wish to rent those items from Wewathanna there is a small shop close to the entering point to the hill. We came to Wewathanna across Mada Mahanuwara and it takes more than 4 hours.

The road to the hill was not in good condition and our vehicle is not supposed to carry us to the top. We walk to the top and the place is seriously incredible. It was easy to hike and take an hour.
We found a place to keep our tents. There were different viewpoints for keeping your tents and enjoying the environment. The Wewathanna tank is in the middle of the land. We bathed from the tank and it was very cold.
After getting fresh, we started to find firewoods for the night bonfire. You don't need to worry, there are plenty more places to find enough firewoods. However, the place became too windy and our tent was not capable to handle the situation. Suddenly started to rain and The place was covered by mist. It was very heavy, even we couldn't see each other.
Please, bring a rain cover for the tent and warm clothes. It is essential. That might work well. After a few hours, the Rain was reduced and we started to cook. Our plan was to prepare BBQ meats and corns with pieces of bread.

It was hard to get on fire to charcoal. Because we didn't bring any stater. Finally, we could be on fire and prepare our meals. It was a chilling moment we ate delicious foods and stand down around a bonfire. we were spending a few more hours talking and singing. We were in the most peaceful place. We could only hear the sound of a gusty breeze.
At the midnight we went to sleep and it was a murky night. However, we went tight sleep quickly, because it was a tiring day.
We got up early in the morning(6:00 am) to see the sunrise. Unfortunately, The place was entirely covered by the mist and We even couldn't see the mark of the sun.
It was a beautiful land, with a relaxed and laidback atmosphere. We prepared a cup of tea to warm up ourselves. Then, started to make breakfast.

This was the nicest experience for us. After 4 hours later, Sun came up and mist went out. We couldn't believe our eyes, this moment was amazing.

We cleaned our camping spots clearly and take even small places of litter we bring there. We don't need to kill our beautiful environment. If you are carrying any plastic with you, make an effort to dispose of them responsibly. Say No to plastic in next travel
After taking plenty of memories we were heading back to the down.
