Sri Lanka is an island full of natural beauty. In there, there is a hundred amount of wildlife, waterfalls, jungles, hills, sandy beaches, and historical archeological paces. As a traveler, choosing the best destinations for your itinerary is not easy. I am a traveler living in Sri Lanka. I would like to summarize the best 10 places you should visit in Sri Lanka. This list totally depends on the eye of me.
- Sigiriya
This is the most famous place in Sri Lanka among locals as well as foreigners. However, Sigiriya was built by King Kashyapa. Actually, it was his kingdom. It was on top of the natural rock that’s why people are interested to visit that place. According to UNESCO, it is the 8th world wonder. Even you are a local or foreigner, you should buy a ticket to enter this place. Even though, I believe it is definitely worth it because it has an amazing view at the top of the hill. Rather than that, you can see a beautiful art of the women who believe as a goddess in the inner wall of the kingdom.

2. Nine Arches Bridge- Ella
If you are interested to take amazing photos you should visit this place. Nine Arche is the bridge that has a beautiful archeological structure. It has nine arches that’s why it called a nine arch bridge. However, this place is incredibly famous among photographers because it has a nice view. Do not miss this place, Entering is totally free. There are a lot of hotels around the area, so do not need to worry about accommodations.
3. Jaffna
This city is located in the north part of the country. Normally, A lot of travelers do not visit this place. If you are preferring to take the Tamil cultural experience, I highly, recommend visiting Jaffna. It has a little bit of worm climate than other parts of the country, but it has an unbelievably beautiful Hindu temple and sea. Before 10 years back, Jaffna was suffered from civil war. There are a lot of tracked buildings remain in the area. It is not a very crowded area like other cities in Sri Lanka. You can eat tasty Tamil foods, especially plates of seafood. To reach the Jaffna you can use trains, public buses as well as your private vehicles.

Diyaluma waterfall is the second highest fall(720ft) in Sri Lanka. you have to do a little hike to reach this place. This place is not very crowded, but the view is amazing. Bathing in the fall is safe, if you are interested, you can camp in the upper part of the fall.
6. Adam’s peak
This is the very famous hike in Sri Lanka and the best season for this hike is from December to April. In another period of the year, the temple of the top and other shops are closed. Adam’s peak is a place that has a religious background. Because of that, you have to pay some attention to clothes. It also has different beliefs and forth tales. If you are interested to figure out those things I highly recommended to visit there. When you start a hike in the night, you can see the beautiful sunrise on the top.
7. Wales watching- Mirissa
In this paradise, you can see the biggest animal in the land as well as see. There are 80 varieties of wales in the world, the most interesting thing is, here you can see 26 varieties. This is a big surprise for the kids who love animals. You can take a boat from Mirissa beach and can see whales in the deep middle of the sea. A lot of tours offers breakfast and water. 8. Temple of Tooth – Kandy
This temple is extraordinarily rich with unique architectural design. It located in the Kandy there are a lot of ways to come here. This place has a tooth of buddha and Buddhist people worship it. 9. Arugam Bay
Sri Lanka is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches. Arugam bay is an ideal place for surfing and it is located in dry zone of the country. A lot of foreigners never missed this place. I am sure, you can spend valuable time there.

As a traveler, you definitely love to see animals relevant to Asia. Yala National Park is the most visited and second large national park in Sri Lanka.
